Core Holder (Hassler Cell)

Core Holder (Hassler Cell)

The permeability of a rock sample for gases or liquids at different injection pressures is determined using a core holder. A core holder is sometimes called a Hassler cell.

Studies conducted with the core holder will provide answers to gas and liquid permeability, formation damage, porosity, carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS), relative permeability, secondary water flooding, enhanced oil recovery and the need for steam flooding.

Leutert designs and manufactures custom core holders that fit into an existing core flooding system or other core analysis application. Upon request, we can design a complete core analysis system that meets your specific requirements.
