Mobile Atmospheric Gasometer (AMG)



The LEUTERT atmospheric mobile gasometer (AMG) allows the PVT specialist to accurately measure the volume of liberated gas. It incorporates a calibrated glass cylinder that houses a floating piston. Dissolved gas in a one phase sample is freed by slowly decreasing the pressure. A pycnometer flash skit or flash separator may be used to do so. The sample may be stored in a downhole sampler, a sample cylinder or pycnometer, recombination apparatus or PVT cell.

The liberated gas is fed into the bottom of the gas cylinder and the floating piston starts to rise. A position sensor records the pistons position within the cylinder and a micro controller calculates the gas volume collected. At the same time the pressure inside the cylinder is measured and displayed. The temperature of the gas is measured while it flows into the gasometer. The temperature is also displayed at the front panel of the gasometer.


  • Smaller dead volume than most competitive gasometers special care has been taken, to minimize diameter and length of feeding lines.
